Your Starting Plan

The Starting School Planner is a parent-observation tool designed to help families reflect on their child's development in the lead-up to starting school. It is not a clinical assessment, developmental screening instrument, psychological evaluation, or substitute for professional advice. It is designed for children starting primary school in 2027 — if your child is younger than 4 years or has already started primary school, results may not accurately reflect their stage of development.

This planner is designed for families in the general preparation phase who are not currently working with a specialist. If your child is already receiving support from an occupational therapist, speech pathologist, psychologist, or developmental paediatrician, their professional plan is the right guide to follow. Using this planner alongside or instead of specialist advice is not recommended.

Results are based entirely on the observations provided by the parent or caregiver completing the planner. They reflect those observations — not an independent assessment of the child — and should not be used as a diagnostic measure or to make decisions about a child's educational placement, medical care, or therapeutic support.

If you have concerns about your child's development — including their speech, physical development, emotional regulation, learning, or social skills — please speak with your GP, paediatrician, or a qualified early childhood specialist. Your GP can advise on what support options and referral pathways are available to you.

Nousli Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any decisions made in relation to a child's educational placement, medical care, therapeutic support, or developmental assessment on the basis of this planner's results. This planner does not constitute professional advice of any kind. Results are provided for general informational and planning purposes only.
